Which habit changed your life?

I worked at four startups in two years.
All of them failed.

These startups were in different industries—pharmaceuticals, real estate, crowdfunding, and music.
So, I decided to start my own online publication.
A year later, that failed too.

Then I became VP of Marketing for a mobile app company.
It failed as well.

I lost all my money and had no job opportunities.
So, I moved into my dad’s small apartment.
We didn’t have much space, so we slept in the same room.

I found a job as a copywriter earning just $12 an hour.
It wasn’t great, but during this time, I made a life-changing decision:
I committed to reading for 5 hours every day.

Over the next year, I read 170 books on psychology, business, and marketing.
With the money I saved from my copywriting job, I took a big risk.

I joined a Facebook software company where I earned half as much.
Within eight months, I led their marketing efforts, landed some clients, and even wrote a book about Facebook marketing.

That book opened doors.
I became the Head of Growth at a venture-backed company in San Francisco.
Then the Head of Growth for a $50M VC firm.
Later, I worked as a Growth Evangelist for a fast-growing SaaS company.

Today, I’m the co-founder and CEO of a multi-million-dollar company.
We built it from the ground up, with no outside funding.

Here’s what I learned:

Be persistent.
