Who do you secretly feel bad for?

Tree Man Syndrome is a rare condition that causes abnormal growths on the body, especially on the hands and feet, making movement difficult and sometimes leaving people fully disabled.

The condition is called "Tree Man" because the growths look like tree bark. It's caused by a genetic condition that weakens the immune system. One man from Bangladesh has this condition:

People with Tree Man Syndrome are often treated as outsiders and seen as different.

There is no cure for this condition, but surgery can remove the growths, and medications like retinoids can help control them. The growths are tough and have their own blood supply, so it takes many surgeries to treat the condition.

The man in the story had 16 surgeries and has been able to manage his condition, even holding his daughter again. (The condition is not contagious.)
