Is Ratan Tata really as great as he is portrayed?
2008: During the terror attack on the Taj Hotel, Ratan Tata stood outside the hotel with other senior staff members. The terrorists killed 33 people, including 21 guests and 11 hotel employees, and set the hotel on fire. After the security and rescue operations, Tata pledged to reopen the hotel for the public. He paid higher salaries to the victims' families and covered the medical bills for the injured. Under his leadership, the Tata Group started The Taj Public Service Welfare Trust. He also met the families of the victims and provided them with both financial and emotional support.
